Our History

CTS Tanzania
Called to Serve was established in 2006 to enable long-term/short-term mission efforts in Tanzania. Several short-term mission trips were arranged through local churches in Virginia, and a couple was sent out as long-term missionaries.
Vickie's Vision
Vickie Cooke, a founding member, was the visionary behind CTS's mission efforts. After her faithful service to our Lord, she passed away in 2021. Her vision was for the Gospel to be preached in the unreached areas and for the local church to be intimately involved in overseas missions. Her vision continues to guide our efforts.
CTS 2021
Called to Serve is relaunching its efforts to encourage the local churches to reach the less evangelized parts of the world through long and short-term mission trips. In addition, CTS will begin to offer internship and gap-year opportunities to young adults. Contact us to learn more about the opportunities.

Board of Advisors
The board of advisors provides support in various ways to our long-term missions efforts. Every church that partners with CTS has one member or a couple who participates in quarterly meetings with the missionaries on the field. Currently, there are 8 churches serving in this role.
